Alan's Princetown Loop - featuring Crazy Well Pool

A moorland and forest walk, though you never feel enclosed by woodland. It is less steep than most moorland routes, and has much of historical interest as well as magnificent views. The short diversion from the main path to Crazy Well Pool is well worth the climb, there are legends surrounding this pool and it's bottomless depths. It is a great place to rest for a snack.
Most of the walk is defined paths but the bit after the aqueduct gets a bit nebulous and it is difficult to find the path in the long grass. We found that keeping the GPS marker on the 350m contour line did the trick. In any event, in good visibility it's hard to get lost: just keep heading towards the radio mast.
Our plan was to grab a pint at The Plume of Feathers in Princetown after the walk, but it was closed (supposedly because of the covid pandemic). So we popped into our old favourite The Tavistock Inn on the way home for a refreshing pint of Avocet.
This is heavily based upon walk 2 from the 'South Dartmoor Pub Walks' book by Bossiney Books, the diversion to Crazy Well Pool was not on the original walk.
